Aprio team attend knowledge sharing session

On 25 October 2019, the Aprio team took some time out of the office to watch The Great Hack, a documentary about the fall of a UK-based political consulting firm, Cambridge Analytica and discuss how this relates to crisis and reputation management. 

Aprio Credence’s gurus, Esme Arendse and Alan Arguile shared their insights about the documentary followed by a team discussion.  

The Great Hack illustrates how Cambridge Analytica worked on behalf of Ted Cruz’s campaign to win the 2016 Republican nomination by using Facebook as a means for “political-voter surveillance” through the collection of user data points. Later that year, the company used the similar strategies to influence the Donald Trump’s 2016 US presidential bid.
